We survey operator algebraic approach to (super)conformal field
theory. We discuss representation theory, classification results, full
and boundary conformal field theories, relations to supervertex
operator algebras and Moonshine, connections to subfactor theory of
Jones and certain aspects of noncommutative geometry of Connes.
